Microsoft to Develop a New AA Game Based on Blizzard IP According to a report from Windows Central, this new team, formed by Microsoft and Blizzard, is primarily composed of former members of King, the mobile game development studio known for hits like Candy Crush. This has led to speculation that the new game could be a mobile game, though it might also be developed for other platforms.
Microsoft’s strategy seems to focus on developing smaller, possibly experimental games (known as AA games) to save costs on AAA titles. This approach gained traction after the unexpected success of the small-scale game Pentiment earlier this year.
The decision to develop this new game reflects Microsoft’s efforts to explore cost-effective solutions within the gaming industry. While details about the new game remain under wraps, there is speculation that it could be themed around one of Blizzard’s popular IPs, such as Overwatch, Warcraft, or Starcraft.
