Homelander Joins Mortal Kombat 1: First Gameplay Trailer Released

NetherRealm Studios has released the first gameplay trailer for Homelander, the iconic character from “The Boys,” who will be making his way into Mortal Kombat 1. Although there’s no confirmed release date, the brief trailer offers a glimpse into the upcoming DLC character’s powers and style.

Mortal Kombat 1: Homelander Gameplay Trailer

In this short trailer, which you can watch below, Homelander demonstrates some of his superhuman abilities, including his heat vision. Fans of “The Boys” will recognize the reference when Homelander takes a sip from a baby bottle of milk, a familiar scene from the show.

Although Anthony Starr, who plays Homelander in “The Boys,” won’t be providing the voice for the Mortal Kombat 1 version of the character, he has given his approval on the portrayal. Despite Starr’s absence, the voice acting in the trailer has been well-received by fans, who are no longer upset about the casting change.

The timing of this trailer’s release aligns well with the upcoming fourth season of “The Boys,” set to premiere on June 14. This crossover serves as a strategic move for both Mortal Kombat 1’s marketing and the promotion of the new season of “The Boys.” Homelander is part of the Kombat Pack, which includes six DLC characters. Among them are Omni-Man from “Invincible” and the returning Quan Chi. While Omni-Man is already available in the game, there’s no word yet on when Homelander will be joining the roster.

Stay tuned for more updates on Mortal Kombat 1 and its upcoming DLC releases.
