Walmart Confirms Working on a New Google TV Box

Walmart, one of the largest retail chains in the United States, continues its foray into producing its own technology products. The company has announced its collaboration with Google to manufacture an Android TV box.

The increasing popularity of Android TV boxes in recent years has prompted many companies to enter this market. Walmart, which has previously released several different Android TV boxes under the Onn brand, has confirmed that it is working on a new device.

Walmart’s New 4K Google TV Device on the Way

Last month, Walmart’s new Android TV box was spotted on the Bluetooth SIG website. Following the strengthening of these rumors, Walmart confirmed that they are indeed working on the new Onn Pro. Speaking with 9to5Google, the company stated that the 4K Google TV box, designed in collaboration with Google, will be available for sale this month. Priced at $49.88, the new Onn Pro will feature 4K streaming, Dolby/DTS sound system, smart home capabilities, voice control, and support for Google Assistant.

While the technical details and Android version of the mentioned Onn Pro Android TV box are yet to be revealed, some users have reportedly been able to place orders for the device on Walmart’s website. Therefore, the specifics of the device will likely become available in the coming days.
