Unitree Introduces its Latest Humanoid Robot, the G1, Priced at Just $16,000

Unitree Robotics, a leading robotics company based in China, has unveiled its latest humanoid robot, the Unitree G1 Humanoid Agent. Surprisingly, the price tag for this advanced robot is only $16,000.

Unitree Robotics is making significant strides in the development of humanoid robots. Last year, the company introduced the H1 robot, which could walk rapidly and perform somersaults, albeit without hands and a face. Now, with the Unitree G1 Humanoid Agent, Unitree Robotics presents a more refined and advanced humanoid robot.

The G1 represents a significant improvement over its predecessor, the H1, despite its modest starting price of $16,000. It boasts a more humanoid appearance, with a head equipped with sensors and cameras, human-like robotic hands, and a three-fingered structure designed to showcase its skills both at home and in the workplace.

Unitree Robotics states that the G1 will be trained using reinforcement learning in a simulated environment and by copying others, with all new skills being updated to the robot through software updates. With a running speed of 2 meters per second and a weight of just 47 kg, the G1 is remarkably agile and lightweight.

While Unitree Robotics has not released many details yet, it has been revealed that the G1 features a 3D LiDAR and depth-sensing Intel RealSense camera sensor in its head. The robot is equipped with advanced battery technology, providing up to 2 hours of continuous operation.

Unitree Robotics has not disclosed the full details of the G1, including the start of sales, although the price is known. However, the company has already made several robot dog-style systems and the humanoid H1 robot (priced at $150,000) available for sale on its website.

Interest in humanoid robots is rapidly growing, and Unitree Robotics joins the ranks of companies such as Boston Dynamics, Tesla, Figure, and Sanctuary AI in this field. The development and interest in humanoid robots continue to accelerate, and Unitree is at the forefront of this exciting advancement.
