OpenAI Poised to Unveil Advanced AI-Powered Digital Assistant

OpenAI may soon unveil significant announcements. CEO Sam Altman has refuted claims regarding a search engine but hinted at an advanced AI-powered digital assistant. OpenAI is set to make some important announcements on May 13th. Initially, there were speculations about the developer of ChatGPT introducing a Google competitor search engine, which Sam Altman denied, stating they would unveil something “magical.” Subsequent rumors suggest OpenAI might introduce an advanced AI-powered digital assistant.

According to reports, OpenAI is working on a new multimodal AI model capable of both conversation and object recognition. Some sources even claim that this model has been secretly tested with select customers. Now, these sources suggest that this model could be what the company plans to unveil on Monday.

This new model reportedly offers faster and more accurate interpretation of images and sounds than existing models. Sources suggest it could be used as a customer service representative, theoretically for educational purposes, and in fields like translation in everyday life. Additionally, it’s highlighted that in some query types, this model surpasses GPT-4 Turbo.

However, like its counterparts, this model isn’t entirely foolproof and may be prone to errors. Productive AI models are inherently susceptible to hallucinations, a challenge yet to be fully addressed. Furthermore, OpenAI might also be preparing a new built-in ChatGPT capability for making phone calls. Developer Ananay Arora suggests that OpenAI is also gearing up server-side for real-time audio and video communication.

Whatever OpenAI plans to unveil, it will do so through a live stream on its website on Monday at 20:00 (GMT).
