Nvidia’s CEO Huang Receives 60% Raise to $34 Million After Turning Company into $2.28 Trillion AI Giant

Under the leadership of Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, the company has transformed into a $2.28 trillion artificial intelligence powerhouse. Becoming the third-largest company globally behind Apple ($2.87 trillion) and Microsoft ($3.09 trillion), Nvidia didn’t skimp on rewarding its CEO for the success in artificial intelligence chips demand. Filling Huang’s Pockets As one of Nvidia’s co-founders, Huang earned a compensation package worth $34.2 million for the fiscal year from February to January, according to the company’s annual proxy filing.

Huang had received $21.3 million in the previous fiscal year, marking a 60% increase in CEO pay. His compensation comprises $26.7 million in stock awards, a $4 million cash bonus, and $2.5 million for other expenses including housing security, car, and driver. Earlier this year, Huang’s wealth soared to $70 billion due to Nvidia’s rapidly rising stock price, making him the world’s 21st richest person. Since then, Nvidia’s stock price has surged nearly 45%, propelling Huang to the 18th spot on the richest list with $80.5 billion. With demand for Nvidia’s chips so high, Huang was forced to acknowledge that the company was distributing these hardware fairly to its customers in the last quarter. While Nvidia won’t unveil its first-quarter results until next week, the results are expected to be robust.
