Microsoft’s Surprise Move for Windows 10!

Microsoft has reopened the beta channel for Windows 10, hinting at new features for the older operating system even as its official support nears its end. Here’s what’s happening with Windows 10 and the latest updates.

Windows 10 Beta Channel Reopened

Despite the official support for Windows 10 ending in October 2025, Microsoft is bringing back the beta program for this operating system. This means that even though Windows 10 will no longer receive feature updates after this date, new features are on their way in the short term.

What to Expect from the Windows 10 Beta

While specific features have not been disclosed, the Windows Insider team has indicated that Microsoft aims to provide “maximum value” to Windows 10 users. This involves inviting current users to join the beta channel, making it easier to test and roll out new features across the system.

One of the anticipated features is the AI assistant Copilot, which was initially introduced for Windows 11. Bringing Copilot to Windows 10 suggests that the OS might receive more AI capabilities, enhancing its functionality.

No Change to End of Support Date

Microsoft emphasizes that reopening the beta channel does not extend the support timeline for Windows 10. The support end date remains unchanged, and joining the beta program will not alter this. Microsoft has already ended support for Windows 10 version 21H2, and users are encouraged to upgrade to version 22H2 and eventually transition to Windows 11 post-2025.
