Meta Unveils Travel Mode for Quest 2 and 3, Mirroring Apple’s Vision Pro Feature

Meta Introduces Travel Mode for Quest 2 and 3, Echoing Apple’s Vision Pro Feature Meta has unveiled the Travel Mode feature, a popular aspect of the $3,500 Vision Pro, for Quest 2 and Quest 3 devices. Today, Meta rolled out the Travel Mode feature for Quest 2 and Quest 3 devices, mirroring the popular feature of Apple’s Vision Pro. The new Travel Mode feature enables users to experience virtual reality seamlessly and offline during flights, ensuring you stay immersed in virtual worlds even while in the air. But how exactly does this feature work? Let’s take a closer look.

Travel Mode Now Available for Meta Quest 2 and 3 Meta’s Travel Mode, developed to block out views outside of airplane windows, allows users to fully immerse themselves in virtual reality without the need to glance out of the window. With this feature, you can play games or use applications on your VR headset without the distraction of looking out of the plane window. For example, you can watch movies as if you were in a cinema, learn a foreign language, or simply explore virtual landscapes to alleviate the stress of traveling. To activate this mode, simply navigate to the experimental features in your Quest device’s settings menu and enable it. Currently, this mode is only available for use on airplanes. Meta plans to extend this feature to other modes of transportation like cars and trains in the future. If you have internet access on the plane and the game or application you want to use requires internet, you can continue to connect and use them via the plane’s Wi-Fi network.

Meta’s new Travel Mode serves as a direct alternative to a similar feature found in Apple’s Vision Pro headset. Essentially, the $3,500 Apple Vision Pro offers similar features, but unfortunately at a much higher price point. Meta, on the other hand, is committed to making Quest 2 and 3 devices more affordable and accessible to a wider audience.

With the introduction of Travel Mode, Meta has made the virtual reality experience during air travel even more enjoyable. Alongside features like this, Meta aims to make VR technology more accessible to all consumers with Quest 2 and 3 devices. So, do you think? it’s necessary to spend over $3.500.00 on the Apple Vision Pro for features like these? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
