McLaren Unveils New Electric “Hyper Bicycles”

Renowned for its supercars and Formula 1 racing cars, McLaren has now introduced electric mountain bikes to its lineup.

McLaren has announced four new electric bicycles, dubbed “hyper bikes.” Notably, all models in the series are mountain bikes, showcasing the company’s foray into the world of electric bicycles. The design, of course, features McLaren’s iconic papaya orange and black color scheme. However, the prices of these bikes rival those of supercars.

Among these four bicycles, the flagship model is the McLaren Extreme 600 and Sport 600. According to the company, these models, which are among the most powerful street-legal bicycles, can generate up to 852W of power. The other two models have lower capacities. Carbon Fiber Frame, Various Power Options

According to McLaren, these bikes are not electric bicycles manufactured by another company and branded with the McLaren label. Instead, the designs come from the same minds that have created supercars like the McLaren Artura. Additionally, carbon fiber is used in the frames of the bicycles.

The bikes feature five different power modes: off, Eco, Trail, Sport, and Race. Pirelli is responsible for the bikes’ wheels. The front wheel of the Extreme model measures 29 inches, while the rear wheel is 27.5 inches. The bikes feature a single-piece digital display reminiscent of the screens found in McLaren cars. This display provides information such as speed, battery status, and remaining range.

McLaren states that these bikes will be produced in limited numbers and will only be sold on their official website. Prices for the models start at $7,950 and go up to $11,950.
