Lucid Prepares to Launch a New Electric SUV

Lucid will begin production of a new electric SUV starting from the end of 2026, which will roll off the production line in Saudi Arabia. Some details about the vehicle and its starting price have emerged.

Lucid CEO Peter Rawlinson announced that they will commence production of a new electric SUV at the AMP-2 facility by the end of 2026. According to the experienced executive, the most appealing aspect of the new model will be its starting price, which is expected to be below $50,000.

While Lucid hasn’t provided many details about the new electric vehicle yet, we’ll have to wait a bit longer for technical specifications. However, the overall plan is clear. The SUV in question will be built on a new midsize platform that can support multiple models.

Lucid’s new SUV will compete with models like the Tesla Model Y Performance and Cadillac Lyriq. Rawlinson stated that the price of the vehicle will start at around $48,000, with production planned to begin at the end of 2026. The Lucid CEO shared his thoughts on the matter, believing that the vehicle will stand out from its midsize class rivals due to its efficiency. Additionally, he suggested that a smaller battery providing the same range could be used thanks to a more efficient design, which would significantly reduce the cost of the electric vehicle.

Rawlinson believes that this midsize SUV will change the game and is eager to provide more information to the public. The production of the new vehicle will start in Saudi Arabia, with the AMP-2 facility in the city of Jeddah already preparing for production.
