iOS 18 Developer Beta 2 Released: Now You Can Mirror Your iPhone to Your Mac

Apple has released the second developer beta of iOS 18, introducing the ability to mirror your iPhone’s screen to your Mac. Following its initial announcement at WWDC 2024 earlier this month, the company has launched developer betas for all its updated operating systems to Apple Developer users. Let’s explore what changes and improvements iOS 18 beta 2 brings.

iOS 18 Beta 2 is Here!
Released today, iOS 18 beta 2 and macOS Sequoia beta 2 bring several enhancements and new features. This update, identifiable by build number 22A5297f, now allows users to mirror their iPhone screen onto their Mac computers, a feature Apple highlighted during its event while confirming other new functionalities.

What’s New in the Update?
In addition to screen mirroring, another significant update is that your Mac can now receive notifications from your iPhone. Clicking on a notification from your iPhone on your Mac will open it in the mirrored iPhone interface.

When you mirror your iPhone to your Mac, the iPhone screen will remain locked. However, if your phone is in StandBy mode during mirroring, whatever is displayed on your iPhone will stay visible on your Mac screen as you browse. With the new SharePlay feature, you can now draw on someone else’s screen or control the display of your phone.

Caution with Beta Updates
Remember, installing a beta operating system and dealing with potential issues is your responsibility.
