iOS 17.5 Update Causes Major Issue: Deleted Old Photos Resurface!

After releasing the latest iOS update, iOS 17.5, Apple users are facing an unexpected issue. Many iPhone users who installed the new update were surprised to find old photos they had deleted long ago reappearing in their galleries.

The iOS 17.5 update contains a bug that causes old photos, deleted years ago, to reappear in users’ galleries. Several users on platforms like Reddit reported that after updating, photos they had deleted years ago suddenly reappeared in their iCloud. Some users noticed old photos they had deleted in 2021 resurfacing, while others mentioned photos from as far back as 2010 reappearing despite being deleted multiple times. Some users even claimed that the iPhone displayed previously deleted photos as if they were newly taken.

The exact cause of this issue is not yet known. However, similar problems were reported by some users during the fourth beta version of iOS 17.5.

The Photos app typically keeps deleted photos in the “recently deleted” folder for 30 days. However, according to user reports, the reappeared photos can be much older, suggesting that Apple may be storing deleted photos for longer than expected.

While Apple has not yet issued an official statement on this matter, users are actively seeking solutions to this unexpected problem.
