OpenAI recently introduced its flagship AI model, GPT-4o, capable of real-time reasoning across voice, image, and text. With its incredible abilities showcased in live demonstrations, everyone is eager to know how to use ChatGPT 4o. Let’s walk through it step by step.
How to Use ChatGPT 4o: OpenAI makes the GPT-4o model accessible to everyone. Using ChatGPT 4o requires minimal effort. Here’s what you need to do to use the new voice assistant: Open the ChatGPT mobile app or go to https://chat.openai.com/ on your computer or phone. Sign in if you have an OpenAI account, or start a new membership for free on this screen. Once logged in, you can start using GPT-4o for free. After reaching the usage limit, it will automatically switch to GPT-3.5. If you’re a ChatGPT Plus subscriber, you can select GPT-4o from the dropdown menu at the top of the page. Is ChatGPT 4o Free? Yes, ChatGPT 4o is entirely free to use. OpenAI states that users on the free tier will be directed to GPT-4o by default. However, the number of messages that can be sent using GPT-4o will be limited based on current usage and demand. Once you reach these limits, free ChatGPT will automatically revert to GPT-3.5. Free GPT-4o users will have access to features such as data analysis, file uploads, web or in-model searches, discovering and using other GPT models, and image recognition. GPT-4o comes with advanced vision features that enhance accuracy in understanding shared images.
Free tier users can upgrade to the Plus version for $20 per month. ChatGPT Plus and Team subscribers will have access to GPT-4 and GPT-4o with a larger usage limit on chatgpt.com. Plus and Team users can select GPT-4o from the dropdown menu at the top of the page. Plus users can request up to 80 messages every 3 hours in GPT-4o and up to 40 messages every 3 hours in GPT-4. OpenAI notes that this limit may be reduced during peak hours. Additionally, remember that unused request/message capacity does not accumulate.
ChatGPT Enterprise customers will have access to GPT-4o in the future. The company has not yet announced a specific date but mentioned “soon.” Users with the ChatGPT Enterprise plan will have unlimited, high-speed access to GPT-4o and GPT-4. GPT-4o will be active by default for ChatGPT Enterprise users. However, like Plus and Team users, other models can be selected from the top of the page.
