14 Major Tech Companies Join Forces for AI Safety
Amid growing security concerns around artificial intelligence, 14 leading tech companies have come together to form the Coalition for Safe AI (CoSAI). This coalition includes giants like Google, Microsoft, and Nvidia. So, what will CoSAI do?
14 Companies Unite for AI Security
Major companies such as Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, Amazon, Nvidia, IBM, PayPal, Cisco, Anthropic, and Intel are collaborating to ensure the safe development of artificial intelligence. CoSAI, organized by OASIS, will enable the design and development of safe AI systems.
Aiming to be an open-source community, CoSAI will provide a platform where AI-related methods, frameworks, and tools can be freely shared. According to the announcement, the coalition will be governed by a council responsible for steering the general AI agenda.
Key Issues CoSAI Will Address
CoSAI will tackle specific issues such as AI model theft and data security. The misuse of AI and related attacks will also be addressed. If these threats are not mitigated, they could jeopardize the integrity and reliability of AI.
Google’s VP of Security, Heather Adkins, emphasized the vast potential of AI. However, she warned that if AI is not developed in a “safe and responsible” manner, it could bring significant risks.
Industry-Wide Focus on AI Security
The industry-wide group will closely monitor developments in the AI field and investigate AI security issues.
