Google App’s ‘Your Space’ Design Gets a Complete Overhaul
Google has updated the cards below the search bar that show weather, air quality index (AQI), sports, and other information. With the new design of the Google app’s home screen, the old thin-line rounded rectangles have been replaced with taller, more robust cards. These new cards make information more prominent and easier to read. So, what exactly has changed?
Key Changes in the New Design
The new cards are taller than before, making it easier to focus on the information. This allows users to follow weather updates, sports scores, or financial news more comfortably. Additionally, at the end of the space, there’s a larger “Settings” card that allows quick access to your preferences. Recently added features include the sunrise/sunset card and a “Notifications” tab in the bottom bar, enhancing the richness of the space.
Rolling Out with Version 15.20+
This redesign comes with Google app version 15.20+ and should be available now. If you don’t see the new cards, try going to settings and toggling some items off and back on to refresh the Discover feed. This should update the ‘Your Space’ section to the latest design instantly.
Modern and Information-Dense
The new design is reminiscent of the old Google Now card structure but is much more modern and information-dense. Information like air quality, finance, sports events, and weather updates are tailored to your location.
