China’s Secret Tank Emerges as Drone Hunter

Recent leaks and social media posts suggest that China is conducting secret tests with its new generation tanks. This tank, allegedly belonging to the Chinese Army’s fourth-generation series, stands out with its drone-hunting capabilities.

Features of China’s Drone-Hunting Tank

The leaked images reveal that the tank is equipped with advanced features such as Active Protection Systems (APS), an autonomous turret, and vehicle-mounted drones. These features enable the tank to detect and neutralize incoming missiles with its 360-degree sensing capability. The tank also features a silent electric auxiliary power unit (APU), allowing it to move without drawing enemy attention.

The drone-hunting tank is likely equipped with an autonomous driving system supported by laser radar and includes state-of-the-art equipment like light armor and AI-assisted targeting systems. To defend against drones, it is outfitted with anti-aircraft weapons, providing effective defense against low-speed missiles and UAVs.

According to a researcher blogger, this drone-hunting tank might include active electronic warfare systems and X-band radars, significantly enhancing its defensive and offensive capabilities. Additionally, its multi-platform autonomous collaboration abilities allow coordinated attacks with UAVs and ground vehicles.

The tank features a six-double-track movement system and has an unpainted exterior with gray on top and yellow on the bottom, suggesting it is still in the testing phase. According to the International Advanced Engineering Science and Technology Development Strategy – Aerospace and Maritime Forum, its active intervention and interception technologies increase the tank’s battlefield survivability by 2.7 times.

If these tanks are indeed on the road for testing, mass production could begin soon. This new drone-hunting tank, which will provide significant advantages to the People’s Liberation Army, focuses on information technology-supported system-centric warfare rather than traditional armor-piercing engagements.

Implications of China’s New Military Technology

These developments mark a significant step in China’s military strength and technological capabilities. What do you think about the impact of this new tank on the battlefield? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
