Anthony Mackie might have accidentally dropped a major spoiler about Captain America: Brave New World! Let’s take a closer look at what happened. When it comes to Marvel movies, it’s almost a tradition for the actors to unintentionally spoil details about upcoming films. The most famous culprits, of course, are Mark Ruffalo, who plays Hulk, and Tom Holland, who plays Spider-Man. It seems a new member is joining this infamous club because Anthony Mackie just revealed a significant spoiler about Captain America: Brave New World!
Spoiler Alert: Captain America: Brave New World Will Feature Both Red Hulk and the Regular Hulk! Anthony Mackie, who plays Captain America, might have dropped a big hint during a video interview with Entertainment Weekly alongside the film crew. While the trailer has already confirmed the appearance of Red Hulk, it seems that Mark Ruffalo’s The Hulk will also make an appearance in the film. When asked how important the 2008 film The Incredible Hulk might be for Captain America 4, Mackie responded with: “That’s a different movie; he’s green, I’m black.”
But things get more interesting. Mackie continues, just before being interrupted by Harrison Ford, who plays Thaddeus Ross and Red Hulk in the movie: “Not Red Hulk, the other Hulk. There’s more than one Hulk. So, when he shows up…” Before he can continue, Ford jumps in again, seemingly to stop Mackie from spilling more details.
It looks like the “he” Mackie keeps referring to is indeed Hulk, though the actor doesn’t explicitly confirm this. Ford’s interruptions seem to be an attempt to prevent Mackie from giving away too much, although it might just be playful banter.
Earlier this year, Mark Ruffalo himself hinted that Hulk would be in the film, though a subsequent report claimed that the MCU actor had misspoken. Classic Marvel.
With Captain America: Brave New World set to hit theaters on February 14, 2025, it seems like we can expect more spoilers to leak, especially with Mark Ruffalo involved… What do you think? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.
