BMW’s Most Powerful M3 Model Yet: The Four-Motor Electric Beast

Revving Up for the Electric Era:
BMW is set to capture the hearts of speed enthusiasts with its upcoming electric performance vehicle, the M3. This will be the most powerful version of the M Series yet, featuring four electric motors and a staggering output of 1,000 kW. Here are the details…

The All-Electric Powerhouse:
Slated for release around 2026 or 2027, this all-electric powerhouse will utilize BMW’s Neue Klasse platform and will be equipped with four electric motors, pushing the boundaries of performance and power. Frank van Meel, CEO of BMW M, claims this vehicle will surpass anything we’ve seen so far. The car’s chassis and transmission will be managed by a central control unit, ensuring precise and controllable driving dynamics.

Innovative Technical Features:
The electric BMW M3 will come with an 800V architecture, meaning super-fast charging capabilities. Additionally, this vehicle will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than three seconds. It will differ from standard Neue Klasse models with a unique battery chemistry and cooling system, ensuring the battery pack can consistently deliver high power without overheating or performance degradation.

Diverse Model Offerings:
Alongside the four-motor model, BMW is also considering a two-motor, rear-wheel-drive variant. This version would offer around 500 kW of power, providing a different driving experience. BMW promises that this new electric vehicle will not only excel in speed but also in driving pleasure, aiming to fill a gap in the current market where high-performance electric vehicles like the Rimac Nevera and Lotus Evija have seen low sales.

Unmatched Driving Experience:
Frank van Meel emphasizes that while speed is crucial, the driving enjoyment is paramount, and he is confident that BMW’s new offering will stand out. He also mentions that he is not worried about the low sales performance of current high-performance electric vehicles, believing that no truly convincing product has yet hit the market, but that BMW is set to change that.
