The stable version of iOS 17.5 has finally been released, and Apple’s latest update breaks the barriers of the App Store. Apple has rolled out the highly anticipated iOS 17.5 and iPadOS 17.5 updates, which come with historic innovations. These new versions arrive two months after iOS 17.4/iPadOS 17.4, bringing sideloading (APK installation) support and more prominently for users in Europe.
What’s New with iOS 17.5? With iOS 17.5, Apple is unlocking the App Store. Initially applicable only in the European Union, this feature allows users to install apps from outside the App Store. iPhone and iPad owners can now download apps directly from developers’ websites with the new update. iOS 17.5 also introduces offline support for Apple News+, enabling users to access their daily feed and News+ content even without an internet connection. This feature will allow users to read their desired content when they’re offline. Another significant update is the cross-platform tracking notifications. iOS and iPadOS users utilizing the Bluetooth detection feature will receive alerts when approaching any tracking device. This will help identify AirTag owners who may be tracking the user.
Here’s How to Update:
- First, open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Navigate to General > Software Update.
- Download the new update.
- Once downloaded, you can start the installation process.
The updates are now available globally. However, it may take a few days for them to reach all models in our country.
