The M4 iPad Pro is coming with an Ultra Retina XDR display, touted by Apple as the most advanced screen in the world. The screen improvement will continue with the new iPhone 16 Pro models.
During the recent Let Loose event, Apple introduced the new M4 iPad Pro, using the phrase “the world’s most advanced display.” The Ultra Retina XDR display on the iPad won’t be Apple’s only screen upgrade this year. It’s claimed that the screen brightness of the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will be higher compared to previous Pro models.
The screen of the iPhone 16 Pro will be 20% brighter It’s said that the iPhone 16 Pro will feature a display with a peak brightness of 1200 nits under typical usage (i.e., when displaying SDR content). For comparison, the screen of the iPhone 15 Pro can reach a maximum brightness of 1000 nits. So, there will be a 20% increase. This value indicates how bright the screen is in everyday use when HDR content isn’t being displayed. Of course, the maximum brightness the screen can reach for HDR content is also important, given that HDR content is consumed from platforms like Netflix. However, no improvement for HDR is expected; like the iPhone 14 Pro and 15 Pro, the iPhone 16 Pro will also be capable of reaching a maximum brightness of 1600 nits.
The iPhone 16 series is expected to arrive in the fall with a larger screen, a new capture button, the A18 chip, and AI features.
