MediaTek has introduced the Dimensity 7300 series chipsets, designed to power mid-range smartphones and tablets. The new 4nm mobile platform includes the Dimensity 7300 and 7300X, which are set to enhance a variety of devices, including foldable ones.
What Does MediaTek Dimensity 7300 and 7300X Offer?
The Dimensity 7300 series focuses on multimedia improvements with advancements in imaging, AI, and gaming capabilities. It features MediaTek’s Imagiq 950 image signal processor, which supports up to 200 Megapixel cameras and includes new features such as face detection and noise reduction algorithms.
MediaTek highlights that the Dimensity 7300 is optimized for gaming, promising up to 20% higher frame rates per second and improved energy efficiency compared to previous generations. Enhancements in 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and audio also contribute to an enhanced mobile gaming experience.
Both platforms are equipped with four high-performance Arm Cortex-A78 cores and four efficient Cortex-A55 cores, reaching speeds up to 2.5 GHz. These octa-core designs are produced using a 4nm process.
The Dimensity 7300X, on the other hand, targets the foldable phone market with dual-display support. It’s expected to power cost-effective foldable devices like the Motorola Razr 2024, bringing foldable technology to the mid-range market.
AI Integration in Mid-Range Devices
With the Dimensity 7300 series, MediaTek aims to bring AI capabilities to mid-range devices. The inclusion of the MediaTek APU 655 chip allows for processing complex data types on mobile devices, resulting in significantly better AI performance.
These advancements mean that mid-range devices will now benefit from enhanced AI features, better imaging capabilities, and a more robust gaming experience, marking a substantial upgrade in the performance and capabilities of mid-range mobile devices.
