A new update for Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) has been released, bringing a host of important changes and improvements. Here are all the details:
Gameplay
- Molotov and Incendiary Grenades: The height of the flame pillar now decreases over time.
- Bomb Planting: The terrorist team’s reward for planting the bomb, if defused, has been reduced from $800 to $600 to minimize the impact of the first round on subsequent rounds.
- M4A4 Price: Reduced from $3,100 to $3,000.
- First-Person Camera Movement: Minor adjustments have been made.
- Console Commands: New commands “switchhandsleft” and “switchhandsright” have been added.
- Deathmatch: Bonus weapons are now the same for all players regardless of equipment.
Incendiary Grenade
- Visual Adjustments: Explosion and flame visual effects have been modified.
- Duration: Shortened.
- Spread Area: Reduced the area covered by spreading flames.
- Price: Lowered from $600 to $500.
Rental System
- Kilowatt Crate: Players who open a Kilowatt crate with a key can now opt to rent the entire Kilowatt collection (excluding rare special items) for a week instead of receiving a single item.
- Rented Weapons: These will revert to their stock versions after the rental period ends and cannot be altered, traded, or sold on the Steam Community Market.
HUD
- MVP Display: Fixed an issue where the MVP player’s name was incorrectly displayed during bot takeover.
- Buy Menu: Fixed a bug where the “Refund All” button only refunded a single flashbang.
- Match End Menu: Fixed discrepancies between the ESC menu scoreboard and the TAB scoreboard.
- Loss Bonus Tooltip: Addressed an issue where the tooltip would remain on the screen after the scoreboard was closed.
- User-Generated Content: Blocking foreign Steam avatars now also blocks other user-generated content like name tags and stickers.
Chickens
- Animations: New animations have been added.
- Terrain Navigation: Chickens can now climb slopes.
- Turning: Chickens can now turn right while walking.
User Interface
- Performance Enhancements: Various performance improvements have been made to the Depot main menu and item inspection background scene.
Demos
- Playback Timeline: Now shows indicators for kill and death events.
- Highlight Mode: Can switch to show kills and deaths only for the active player.
- Playback Stability: Fixed a crash related to demo playback.
- Minor UI Changes: Various small adjustments to the demo playback interface.
Maps
- Vertigo:
- Added a new passage connecting the back of the A bombsite to the bombsite itself.
- Removed the connection between the back of A and the elevators.
- Opened up the passage between the elevators and scaffolding.
- Slightly adjusted the size of the A bombsite.
- Adjusted spawn timings slightly.
- Updated Wingman layout to reflect changes to the A bombsite.
- Baggage:
- Fixed movement issues on the lower conveyor.
- Lowered the height of the central conveyor tray to aid sniper visibility.
- Office:
- Corrected an issue where a player could shoot through multiple walls.
- Mirage:
- Fixed poor collision on certain objects.
- Addressed sticky collision issues around windows in Palace.
