YouTube Begins Testing New Design with Premium Subscribers

YouTube has started testing its new design with Premium subscribers. The revamped interface aims to enhance the video experience and improve content discovery. Here are the details:

New YouTube Design Available to Premium Users

YouTube first launched the redesigned desktop interface in April, but it received mixed feedback, leading to the tests being paused. As of June, the new design is being shown to Premium users as part of the ongoing testing phase.

Users participating in the test will see the redesigned homepage and video pages on the YouTube website. The new layout aims to improve the video viewing experience and make it easier to discover content. Additionally, the accessibility of comments has been enhanced.

Participants in the test can share their experiences and thoughts on the new design with YouTube via a feedback form. The testing period is expected to continue until July 1st, with plans to roll out the new design more broadly based on user feedback.

In addition to the new layout, Premium subscribers may also test AI-based experimental features that allow them to ask questions related to videos.

The previous testing phase in April was halted due to negative reactions. YouTube now hopes to successfully reintroduce the new design through this Premium user test.
