Xbox’s Mobile Store Announced: Coming in July

One of the world’s largest gaming brands, Xbox, is rolling out new projects following its merger with Activision. The brand will launch its mobile game store in July.

Microsoft’s Xbox, now one of the world’s largest gaming brands following its acquisitions of Activision-Blizzard and Bethesda Softworks, continues its efforts to extend its success in console and game development to different platforms. Having repeatedly expressed its commitment to investing in the mobile gaming sector in recent years, Xbox is now gearing up to take a new step in this direction.

Xbox’s New Store Coming in July Xbox’s president, Sarah Bond, discussed the brand’s future plans in a Bloomberg Tech interview. During the interview, Bond stated that Xbox’s mobile store would be released in July of this year. Announced by Phil Spencer in recent months, the Xbox mobile store seems poised to meet gamers before the year ends. This store will be web/browser-based to avoid dealing with the strict rules of Apple and Google.

Bond emphasized the significance of mobile gamers, noting that with the new Xbox store, players will have access to a shared game library and ecosystem across all platforms. Additionally, Bond highlighted the importance of Activision’s success in the mobile gaming market in establishing this store. Xbox’s web-based mobile store will debut in July with titles like Candy Crush and Minecraft. Initially featuring Xbox Game Studios games, the store will later open up to third-party developers and distributors. The Xbox mobile store will also elevate the importance of Xbox’s cloud platform.
