Ubisoft Confirms Remakes of Classic Assassin’s Creed Titles

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has confirmed that remakes of classic Assassin’s Creed games are on the horizon, bringing much-anticipated news to fans of the long-standing series.

Ubisoft Reviving Classic Assassin’s Creed Games

While specific titles set for a remake have not yet been disclosed, the announcement implies that these beloved games will be modernized and revisited. Guillemot expressed excitement about the remakes, stating, “Some remakes will excite our players and allow us to modernize the games we’ve created in the past.”

Rumors suggest that one of the potential remakes could be Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. According to Kotaku, this particular remake is still in the early stages of development and could take years to complete. Black Flag, known for its popular pirate ship mechanics, remains one of the franchise’s most cherished entries.

Future Plans for Assassin’s Creed

Beyond the remakes, Ubisoft promises more diversity in future Assassin’s Creed series entries. Assassin’s Creed Hexe, although still shrouded in mystery, is touted to offer a vastly different experience from previous games. “Assassin’s Creed Hexe will be a very different game that we have announced. It will surprise people,” Guillemot noted.

Additionally, Guillemot touched on current topics in the gaming industry, including the potential of generative AI to enhance NPC interactions and the importance of condemning online toxicity. The forthcoming remakes and future games are poised to usher in a new era for Assassin’s Creed fans.
