Just like any other social networking platform, Threads also faces the challenge of misinformation being shared on its platform. To address this issue, the platform has launched its own fact-checking program to review and rate misleading content.
Previously, Meta used the fact-checking process from Facebook and Instagram to review Threads posts. However, Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, announced that Threads would now undergo a separate fact-checking process independent of Instagram and Facebook.

In the past, Threads posts were compared to those on sibling social media platforms, and if a post on one of these platforms was found to contain false information, the corresponding Threads post would also be flagged. Now, fact-checking on Threads will occur independently of content shared on other platforms.
Threads has not provided specific details on when the fact-checking program was implemented or whether it is limited to certain countries. Additionally, it remains unclear which organizations will be responsible for approving posts on Threads.
