Explosion at Major Chip Factory? Official Statement Released

Rumors are swirling about an explosion at TSMC’s chip manufacturing plant in the United States, with reports of an injured worker. TSMC, the world’s largest chip supplier, is facing claims of an explosion at its Arizona facility. Reports indicated that an incident led to injuries among workers. However, an official statement was quick to follow.

TSMC Denies Explosion Claims at Factory TSMC has denied claims of an explosion at its chip manufacturing facility in Phoenix. While acknowledging a recent accident at the factory that resulted in one worker being injured, TSMC clarified that there was no explosion. The incident was linked to a sulfuric acid waste removal tank, but TSMC confirmed that no explosion or fire occurred at the Phoenix plant. Additionally, the company stated that the incident did not affect any factory equipment or production lines.

The injured driver was taken to the hospital following the accident. The incident is currently under investigation by police and fire officials. TSMC emphasized that the event has not impacted operations or expansion plans at the Arizona facility.

TSMC’s first factory in the state began chip production in April. The facility, which will expand with a total investment of $65 billion, is set to start producing TSMC’s 4nm process in the first half of 2025.

Recently, TSMC also shared details about its new N2 manufacturing technology. Compared to the current N3E process, the N2 technology promises a 10% to 15% performance boost and a 25% to 30% reduction in power consumption.

These advancements could set new technological standards in the chip industry. Share your thoughts in the comments below.
