Breakthrough in Solar Technology: Dust-Repellent Panels by LONGi

Chinese solar technology company LONGi has developed a revolutionary dust-repellent solar panel that promises to enhance the efficiency of solar energy production and usage. This innovation aims to solve one of the most persistent issues faced by solar panel users—dust accumulation. Here are the details of this groundbreaking development.

Say Goodbye to Dust Accumulation

LONGi’s new solar panel, the Hi-MO X6 Guardian module, features a unique design that prevents the accumulation of dust and dirt. Unlike conventional panels, this module includes a short frame design that allows rainwater to easily flow off, preventing dust build-up around the edges. Additionally, tiny drainage slits within the frame ensure that any excess water is directed away from the panel, keeping it clean and efficient.

Brett Robinson, the national sales manager for LONGi Solar Australia, highlighted the new module at the Smart Energy Council Conference and Expo 2024. Robinson stated, “Our customers have been very concerned about dust accumulation. With this module, we have completely resolved that issue.” According to a Global Customer Satisfaction survey, dust and dirt accumulation were among the top concerns for solar panel owners. The Hi-MO X6 Guardian Anti-Dust module addresses this problem effectively.

Superior Performance and Efficiency

The dust-repellent panels not only stay cleaner but also offer superior performance and efficiency. By employing back contact technology, the electrical conducting metal strips are placed on the rear of the panel, allowing unobstructed sunlight to reach the entire surface. This design innovation results in a 6% power increase compared to standard modules, according to LONGi’s R&D team.

Increased sunlight absorption by these advanced panels translates into lower energy bills and a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions associated with fossil fuels. LONGi’s extensive research and testing included 1,000 reliability tests and over 500 days of field evaluations, ensuring the panels’ reliability and performance.

LONGi’s Green Vision

LONGi aims to achieve 100% renewable electricity supply annually by 2028 and to bring green energy and green hydrogen projects to developing countries. In March, the company introduced a 440-watt anti-fingerprint Ultra Black module to the Australian residential market, marking another step towards their vision.

In summary, LONGi’s dust-repellent solar panels represent a significant advancement in clean energy production. For more detailed information about LONGi’s innovative work, click here. What do you think about this new development? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
