Asus ROG Ally X: Bigger Battery and Memory Upgrades Await!

The upcoming Asus ROG Ally X model retains features like the screen, processor, and keyboard layout while enhancing battery, memory, and storage capacity. Departing from the expectations of a sequel, the new iteration of the portable console, which utilizes AMD’s Ryzen Z1 chips designed for portable gaming, emerges as a revamped version rather than a direct follow-up.

What’s New with Asus ROG Ally X? Prepared under the moniker Asus ROG Ally X, the new console undergoes several enhancements. For instance, the battery capacity sees a boost of 30-40%, nearly doubling gaming durations. Storage now supports up to NVMe M.2 2280 form factor, accommodating drives of up to 8TB. Additionally, RAM memory elevates to LPDDR5X-7500 support, contributing to smoother performance.

Furthermore, addressing concerns from the original model, the SD card slot, prone to overheating, has been relocated away from heat pipes, effectively resolving the issue. In essence, significant improvements mark the Asus ROG Ally X over its predecessor. The console is set to hit the market next month.
