Apple Strikes Deal with OpenAI! ChatGPT Could Come to iOS 18

According to new reports, tech giant Apple has struck a deal with artificial intelligence company OpenAI. ChatGPT might be coming to iOS 18.

For a while now, Apple has been in talks with various companies to integrate artificial intelligence into its upcoming operating system, iOS 18. Discussions have been held with Google, OpenAI, and Chinese company Baidu. According to a recent report, Apple has secured a deal with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT’s features into iOS 18.

While both companies have reportedly agreed to the deal, there hasn’t been an official announcement yet, leaving the timing of the announcement shrouded in mystery. The report suggests that the OpenAI agreement will allow Apple to introduce a popular chatbot as part of the new artificial intelligence features slated to be announced next month. This means Apple might add a new text-based artificial intelligence based on ChatGPT to iOS 18.

Furthermore, another recent report suggests that the artificial intelligence features coming to iOS 18 will partially leverage the power of Apple Silicon processors. The artificial intelligence in iOS 18 will be redesigned to comply with Apple’s privacy and security protocols, meaning third-party companies like OpenAI won’t be able to collect data.

Mark Gurman, known for providing reliable information about Apple, stated:

“Individuals briefed on the matter, who asked not to be identified because the situation is private, said the two sides have completed terms for Apple to use ChatGPT features in its next iPhone operating system, iOS 18. Apple has also held discussions with Alphabet Inc.’s Google about licensing that company’s Gemini chatbot. Those talks have not led to a deal but are ongoing.”
